RSS 2.0My name is Will Russell and I am new writer that used my recent experiences in the Venezuelan nether regions to write a novel: Blue Margarita. Blue Margarita encompasses my first encounter with my now wife from Venezuela and my subsequent travels to and from that South American paradox.
The book is also an insight into Venezuelan culture and what is happening to one of America?s chief oil suppliers. Venezuela has been virtually transformed into a personal fiefdom by its obscene president who sees himself as the successor to Simon Bolivar and believes he is descended from the Aztec emperor Montezuma. When not having messianic visions about being the ruler of the Americas and crushing free speech, protests and in general all forms of dissent, Chavez promotes his own grotesque variety show ?Alo Presidente? in which he is the sole entertainment.
My wife and I now reside in Virginia, far from the events plaguing her beloved Venezuela. I felt compelled to write and share my adventure with enthusiasm and humor.
