Vaccine issues making it confusing to know what to do as a parent?
April 03, 2007 7:58 AM

White Lies: A Tale of Babies, Vaccines, and Deception (Cedar Creek, Dec 2006. ISBN #09790205-1-4) is inspired by a true story, one mother’s quest for the truth about her baby’s injuries after a childhood vaccine. Author Sarah Collins Honenberger, the winner of the 2005 Virginia Writers Club statewide fiction award, appeared locally on Richmond’s WTVR Virginia This Morning to talk about the inspiring story of Lacy, an uneducated girl from the mountains, who was never told by the doctors that the DPT shot caused her baby’s seizures. A fascinating story of two very different women, the mother and the rural lawyer who helps her file a claim in the special compensation fund set up the government to help families with injured children, White Lies has been a book club selection from the start. Honenberger has presented at the South Carolina Book Festival, the Virginia Book Festival, and numerous library events, bookstores, and book clubs. Visit http://www.readwhitelies.com for more.
