It Took An Earthquake
December 20, 2006 2:07 PM

Miriam J. Walker’s new novel “It Took An Earthquake” is based on the true story of Sir Harry Frankland, great-grandson of Oliver Cromwell.  Harry was raised in India, educated in England, and became Collector of the Port of Boston in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1741.  The focal point of my book is his relationship with a poor young lady from my home town of Marblehead and the impact on that relationship of the earthquake of 1755 in Lisbon, Portugal, which nearly cost Harry his life.  It is available on-line at Amazon.com and Barnes&Noble.com or by calling the publisher, iUniverse at 1-800-AUTHORS or by e-mailing me at .  She sells autographed copies for $11.95 plus $1.60 s. and h.

Her first book “Kiss Millie”, a humorous, romantic novel, is also available on-line at Amazon and B&N, as well as from me.  Again, autographed copies are $13.95 plus $1.60.

She lives in Mechanicsville and am active in the Hanover Writers Group and VFW Post 9808.
