by James Henry McIntosh
Most of us are prevented from living successful lives by ‘nonsense’. Nonsense describes absurd, foolish, or meaningless words, ideas or conduct. It is purely subjective: you are likely to see nonsense when you disapprove of it. For example, you might see the following statement as nonsense: it does not matter whether you understand your life; it matters that you live it. Actually, that is almost a bit of nonsense. What really matters is that choose to live your life. Your freedom to choose makes you a creator and even deciding not to choose is an act of creation. That’s right, you are creating your life even when you are choosing to live with nonsense. This book is a personal journey about making choices. It’s about choosing to create a successful life that, in the end, makes sense to you. This book explores the following concepts: nonsense & the nonsense divide; why your path matters; 5 steps to crossing the divide; pitfalls on your path & how to avoid them; the broken wheel of success & how to fix it.

It is soft cover, 6x9x.02, 80 pages and is in the horror fiction genre. The Scarecrow is geared more for the adult reader as there is some violent content. A perfect read for the Halloween season.
Here is a brief synopsis:
“The Scarecrow” is set in the small backwater town of Whiterock, Virginia. Every year, for as long as anyone can remember, a somewhat gruesome tradition has taken place. During the week of Halloween the children compete to see who can build the most frightening scarecrow.
Jack O’keefe is a five-time winner, and this being his final year of competition, is anxious to build his scariest creation yet. While looking for the perfect mask, Jack and his younger brother Timmy discover that Lee Thomas has one in his store that he claims is evil. In response to their questions, Mr. Thomas tells the boys of the mask’s role in his brothers death. Jack, however, refuses to be deterred and becomes obsessed with the mask. When he breaks into the drugstore, he unleashes a series of horrific events that terrorize his hometown. Will you survive “The Scarecrow”? Come in. Be scared.

A goat’s head staring back at Detective Cole Bryant from within the bowels of his latest victim sets forth a string of unnatural deaths among the teenagers that live in the shadow of the cursed North Mountain. Trying to solve the case only brings Cole closer to dark side where temptation, sex and sinful ways lure him into the world of a family whose backwoods morals aren’t simply a symptom of a forgotten age in time but the consequence of a centuries old pact made with the devil himself.

The book is also an insight into Venezuelan culture and what is happening to one of America?s chief oil suppliers. Venezuela has been virtually transformed into a personal fiefdom by its obscene president who sees himself as the successor to Simon Bolivar and believes he is descended from the Aztec emperor Montezuma. When not having messianic visions about being the ruler of the Americas and crushing free speech, protests and in general all forms of dissent, Chavez promotes his own grotesque variety show ?Alo Presidente? in which he is the sole entertainment.
My wife and I now reside in Virginia, far from the events plaguing her beloved Venezuela. I felt compelled to write and share my adventure with enthusiasm and humor.

Comments (0)Two-Sided Realities is a book about poems that Firestar has seen throughout her travel. Two-Sided Realities is about the things that need to be seen, heard and told. The realities of life is two sides that need to become one in order to see that all life is the same, no matter what your race, color or belief is. These poems are just poems from a heart that wants to tell her sights upon her journey in life that touched her and molded her to want to make a change in her life and bring others closer to what God has to offer life, if we stop the hate and become a family of unity.
Two-Sided Realities are poems written to inspire the hearts and souls to stop playing hates against others?..and open our eyes to what is needed?compassion, understanding and most of all, we will stop all the talk about what we should do and must do?..and just do it before its too late.
Two-Sided Realities is written for the people and future of our of children. If we don?t stop all this so-called talk of things we want to do and never do them, life will faded away for the children If we want unity then it needs to start now, so the children can live as one race?..Human.
Firestar lives in a town called, Charlottesville Virginia, the state for lovers. Firestar is single not looking for love.
Firestar?s poems have been published by The National Library of Poetry. Two-Sided Realities is the first poem book she has written and published by Publish American, but she also has novel that is soon to come out called, For The Love Of Risa.
